ET Breaks Summit Points

Super Pro
4.50 to 7.75 ET
Super will be contested as one eliminator, mixing door cars, dragsters and altered as one category from time trials and into all rounds of eliminations.
- Electronics (throttle stops / delay boxes / transbrakes) are permitted.
- Accutime II Cross Talk will be used.
- Drivers running 4.50 and quicker must have an Advanced ET competition license and all required safety equipment per the NHRA rules, including a SFI 3.2A/15 fire suit and head and neck restraint device/system SFI 38.1.
- Cars running quicker then 6.39 seconds must have a SFI chassis certification. Cars running 4.50 and quicker must have an Advanced ET chassis certification.
- Burnouts across the starting line under power, are not permitted.
Pro Eliminator
5.70 – 8.99 ET
- No electronics (throttle stops / delay boxes) 2 STEPS, Trans-Brakes are permitted.
- All delay boxes must be physically removed from the vehicle.
- Nitrous is allowed as a single stage system, operated by a WOT switch.
- No Dragsters, Altereds or center steering roadsters permitted. Side steer roadsters are permitted only if they have fenders.
- Drivers/racecars running elapsed times of 9.00 – 9.99 seconds must have a NHRA license, membership and all equipment per NHRA rules and regulations and a SFI chassis certification.
- All drivers and race cars must comply with NHRA rules and regulations.
Sportsman
7.35 and slower ET
- No electronics (Throttle stops / Delay boxes / Trans-brakes) permitted.
- All delay boxes must be physically removed from the vehicle.
- Street eliminator racecars will be required to have factory glass, headlights, functioning mufflers, DOT approved tires, hood (fiberglass permitted), doors, fenders and grill per the NED rules.
- All drivers and race cars must comply with NHRA rules and regulations.
Bike / Sleds
4.50 and slower
- 2 Steps, delay boxes permitted.
- All motorcycles in competition require a “kill switch” and must comply with NHRA rules and regulations.
Trophy
4.50 – slower
- Electronics and Trans-Brakes are prohibited.
- Trophy Eliminator vehicles must maintain stock appearance. Street tires or DOT street tires permitted. Open exhaust permitted.
- Emphasis will be placed on maintaining Trophy Eliminator as a novice category
2023 SBRA Southern Bracket Racing Association Parameters
Rule Number One
Safety is of the upmost importance, so that being said safety rules for race vehicle and driver will be utilized.
Using NHRA and IHRA Safety Rules for the ET’s and Speeds run will be required.
Super/ET Class
DRIVER:
Proper Helmet, Proper Clothing, (Jacket, Pants, Gloves, Shoes) PPE Based on ET/MPH (NHRA/IHRA Safety Rules.
RACE VEHICLE:
Proper safety equipment for ET/MPH
Examples: Oil Containment Diaper, Window Net, Seat Belts, Valve Stems ect.
Mod/Pro
Driver:
Proper Helmet, Proper Clothing, (Jacket, Pants, Gloves, Shoes) PPE Based on ET/MPH (NHRA/IHRA Safety Rules.
RACE VEHICLE:
No Delay Box or Throttle Stops
Trans-Brake, Two Steps Permitted.

All Eliminators
- Must display NHRA SM, SBRA, Points decals on Both sides and Numbers on the Left side of Vehicle Dial Ins must be on left side and at least 4” High.
- For entries that do not require a NHRA license (i.e. 6.39 & slower), a NHRA competition number is not required unless the entry will be going to the ET finals.
- All cars running 6.39 and quicker must use an acceptable oil retention device. All cars running 4.49 and faster must have a head and neck restraint device/system SFI 38.1.
- Cooling system additives are strictly prohibited. No anti-freeze or lubricant type additives allowed. If a race entry leaks such products on the racing surface, the entrant will be disqualified from further racing activities for the balance of the event. Exceptions only include current state licensed and inspected vehicles.
- Entrants having a battery problem may utilize a “hot box” jumper system to start the race car. • For regulations on shielding, refer to the NHRA rulebook
- The use of any temporary or permanent shielding, including paint, that obstructs the driver’s vision that is attached to the helmet, window, windshield is prohibited. Any other shielding must have a permanent attachment, such that it requires tools for removal. Maximum size of shield: 4-inches by 8-inches.
- Excessive window tinting is not permitted in any eliminator. If a SMR Official can’t see inside the race car because of window tinting it is illegal and must be removed.

SMR POINTS Racers
10 Points
1st round appearance points are earned by the entry staging under its own power.
10 Points awarded per round win
Early Points registration 5 points. On or before Early registration date on schedule.
Vacation Voucher 10 points. Maybe used for NHRA, SBRA, or both. Only for a missed points weekend. May not be used as additional points.
Perfect Attendance 10 BONUS points. Applied for NHRA and SBRA series.
NO TEAM POINTS or Multi drivers.
Double Points dates TBA.
Rain Dates will be posted on schedule and to be announced 2 weeks in advance if needed for either NHRA or SBRA.
Special Event and Track Support Participant Show Up Point days awarded.
Anyone caught cheating, saying disparaging remarks about South Mountain Raceway or Officials on Social Media or undermining Track Decisions may be subject to Suspension and or loss of points along with disciplinary points loss depending on severity. This will be determined by Track Officers. Remember we will always keep integrity at the forefront.
